ICEA Chess Monthly Tournaments
We are playing competitive chess and have fun together.
National Master Karl won 1st place in the 1800+ with a perfect score!
Alex shared the title of champion in the 1000+ section with Sean, achieving a 100 point rating leap, and hitting his 1400 milestone for the first time. Good job!
Eight 1800+ players played against each other, it was intense and competitive.
We are also playing beautiful chess and making friends!
Jorge claimed 2nd place of the U1000 section with only half a point advantage, and this is his first USCF rating tournament!
The 7 years old kid Arnav dominated the U1000 section with a perfect score and he has achieved a rating of over 1000!
As a rising star in the ICEA Chess Club, Sean took another spot in the first placers of the 1000+ section with an unbelievable 200 rating leap. Awesome!
We have 4 players tied for the 3rd - 6th places. Morgan (right) even missed the first double round.
The competition in the 1000+ is also intense, three players shared the 3rd - 5th places, and are only half point away the tied 1st - 2nd places. Nobody can dominate the 1000+ section. It is only the second tournament for Jeffery (middle), and his USCF rating skyrocketed.
Kishan took the clear 2nd place seat of the 1800+ section. He gained 1400+ rating points in one year!
As a top 10 ranked girl player of her age in the United States, Vanessa got third place in the 1800+ section.

Kevin Zhang
Kevin is a 5th grader at Jing Mei Elementary School, he is a national winner of Math Kangaroo Competition and he is a member of ICEA Math Club. In his free time, he likes doing math, music, reading, writing and Badminton. His favorite subjects at school are math, writing, science, and language arts.
