“Stop Motion Camp” is a program sponsored by I.C.E.A. Incubator for Kids*.

 

Class Details

The stop motion camp will teach all about the creation of stop motion from ground-up. We will start from the basics of knowing about stop motion and then moving on to the creation of a storyboard and setup as well as tips on the animating and editing. Students will be provided with hands-on experience throughout the class as well as homework being assigned each class. The goal is for them to be able to create a stop motion film by the end of the class. 

Max Enrollment: 15

Dates:4 Days

August 17 (Tue.), 18(Wed.), 19 (Thur.), 21 (Sat.)

(@3:30pm – 4:15pm PDT or 6:30pm – 7:15pm EDT)

Target Audience: 1st – 8th Grade

Price: Free

Preparations For Class: 

  • Phone or tablet
  • Tripod (Camera tripod, Phone tripod, LEGOs, books, or anything that could hold up the camera)
  • Lights (Studio lights, lamp, flashlight, etc.)
  • Support stand (Link to buy) or fishing line
  • Stop Motion Studio
  • Kinemaster
  • Textbooks are optional if interested in in-depth learning, but aren’t required

About Instructor:

My name is Andrew Wang, a rising sophomore at East Chapel Hill High School. My interests are drawing, animating, and building plastic models along with doing stop motion for over 4 years. This interest in animation is what got me to start this camp teaching stop motion. Also, I have previously been event coordinator and presenter in ICEA.
