ICEA 2024 Spring Writing Class: Author Point of View Essay Writing

Does your student need practice writing different types of essays based on analyzing passages? This is the class for them! Every session, they will submit an essay and get individualized feedback to help them become better writers. Our focus is the author’s point of view, which requires students to analyze the passage in more detail. It’s great practice for writing using a text.

2024 Winter Writing Class:

Author Point of View Essay Writing

(Grades 4 – 6)

 

Class Description:

In this class, we will focus on identifying and analyzing the author’s point of view in different pieces of writing. What is the author’s opinion about the topic they are writing about? To answer this question, students will look at word choice and topic presentation, and will practice with fiction and nonfiction pieces. Students will submit an essay with every class and receive individual feedback on how to improve. They will practice informative and persuasive writing, with how to write each included in the lessons.

  1. The online zoom link will be sent out in the booking confirmation email as well as shown at the top of this page.
  2. All students will be invited to join a Google Classroom before the class begins.

About the Teacher:

Rachael has been an educator for over 16 years and has been teaching ICEA writing class for more than 4 years. She currently teaches writing class in Aurora, Colorado. She received her masters in elementary education from Johns Hopkins University. Rachael is passionate about educating children and believes that every child can be successful with the right amount of support and resources. In her spare time, she likes to read, play Harry Potter trivia and bake treats from scratch.
